I am so sorry I learned of this a day too late to attend his memorial. Like so many, Mr. Buzzard was my chemistry teacher at Snider. He was tough, but always with a little glint of joy and mischief in his eye. Many is the lunch I went down and watched Andy Griffith with him at noon on WFFT. My senior year, I played the tough-as-nails law professor (the role originally played by John Houseman) in Snider's production of THE PAPER CHASE. Mr. Buzzard was a wonderful teacher. My first year of chemistry at Purdue was easy because it was all review from what I had learned in high school. He pushed me to be the best version of myself. I remember visiting him after I graduated from college with a biology degree. I had been hesitant to apply to medical school and took a job in pharmaceutical sales.
