Not sure what to say?

I remember when my friend Rob gave me a signed copy of his Dad's scanner book, I was really touched by his thoughtfulness.
I share your loss Rob. Your father is I know is truly missed.

It was with extreme sadness that I learned of the passing of Gene. Having only met him once in person, but over the years, via letter, and email, Gene provided a wealth of information and help during my tenure as Editor of the PS-CA column of RCMA, and afterwards. Reading the words of others, I can't add much more to the tribute to this man. Thank you, Sir, for all those many wonderful memories and "debates" of who's info was right, and who's info was wrong. Gene will be missed by all of us in both the scanning and ham communities..

How many of us in amature radio can say that "it all started with scanner listening and a Police Call book" Although never had the pleasure of meeting Gene, he will be truely missed by us all.
God Bless

Gene and I met by phone and letter over twenty years ago. Then a few years later we got to meet in person, once in Knoxville, Tennessee and again in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I always found Gene to be a gentleman with the highest qualities. Some place I have a picture of Gene holding a copy of the Betty...

Gene was known to anyone interested in scanning and he did a great deal for the hobiests. He will be missed

I remember looking forward to each issue of POLICE CALL - not only for the freq. information but for the editors page were Gene let all the scanner buffs know what was going on in the public safety area. I also recall getting an e-mail response from Gene after I wrote him to thank him for all the past issues of POLICE CALL. Gene made scanning more than just a hobby. We will miss you Gene.

God Bless you Gene. You were truly a gentleman.

I was a fellow writter who communicated with Gene on the internet. Gene always treated me with the greatest respect and gave me proffesional courtesy when he published his yearly editions of Police Call. Even those that only knew of him will miss him.
