Melanie, Laura, Janelle and Melinda, I am so sorry to hear about Larry's passing. I have so many fond memories of Larry and the rest of you. I just heard about it last night and wish I had known and been able to pay my respects. Prayers out to all of you.

Melanie, Laura, and Janelle, I want to extend my deepest sympathy concerning the recent passing of your dear husband and father Gene Cottam. When the girls were my piano students in Richardson, you all were one of my favorite families. It has been an honor and pleasure to know you all.

I was privileged to interact with Larry for only brief moments during his sojourn on this earth. When we were together the important activities involved family, not science. This detail tells almost everything you need to know. I admire his contributions to burn victim recovery, and regret missing the opportunity to personally discuss same with him. Journal articles are so sterile.
