Not sure what to say?

It is an honor to remember Gene today.... He was a very special person and a pioneer in many ways. His goodness and kindness will remain with me always... May his memory be eternal.

Gene was a wonderful teacher, brilliant educator and administrator, and made everything he came to better. Above all, he was a kind and caring friend who made the education department at St. John's more human and a pleasure to be part of. He will always be missed by those fortunate to have known him. May his memory be eternal..

Gene was a unique individual. He had a great love for people. That was evident in every conversation I ever had with him. He had a quiet brilliance. He had no need to prove how intelligent he was. Gene was always someone you enjoyed being around. Where some people walked around under a cloud, he brought clear skies (and clear thinking). I will miss his infectious smile and welcoming way.

I will miss Gene greatly. I am a better man for having known him. I am proud to have called...

Karen I'm so sorry for your loss. Gene was a wonderful kindhearted man. I'm so happy I got to call him my friend.
The Museum won't be the same without him.

He was an inspirational leader who successfully desegregated the schools, encouraged a strong teachers' union, professionalized the principals, and encouraged and supported programs such as NOCCA, McDonogh 15, and McMain Magnet. At St.John's University he was a revered teacher and administrator.

Dear Karen, Please accept our condolences at this moment of grief. Gene was a wonderful man. Sam and Natasha
