Not sure what to say?

As a 31 year veteran of the FBI, I can easily say that Gene Glenn gave myself the opportunity to achieve my highest goals. I was Supervisor in Dallas Division, and was administratively ready for promotion to Assistant Agent in Charge. Gene had served in the Little Rock, Arkansas FBI office, where he heard of myself from one of his neighbors. I was born and raised near Little Rock. Thanks to Gene, I was exposed to challenges that enabled myself to be promoted again to the Inspections...

To say the word "shocked" is an understatement to the untimely passing of the man I followed in the Detroit Division as ASAC. We had several conversations while he was an Inspector that helped two different men better understand each other. I absolutely admired his position on the Ruby Ridge matter because he domonstrated courage with honor that others should emulate.

Gene was my SAC twice and I still tell stories today about how he could make everyone laugh when we all really needed one. He was a man you had to spend time with to know, he loved his family, his job and his country. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Gene Glenn dared to stand tall for honesty and integrity against the politics of Washington, D. C. during the Ruby Ridge saga.

As his ASAC in Salt Lake City, I watched a man equate himself as David vs. Goliath, because truth is mightier than egos and careers. His decision to do the right thing resulted in exposing the worse possible of FBI conduct, the violation of the U.S. Constitution, Federal Crimes and FBI policy, in what would become the FBI's darkest day. Gene could have taken...

Gene never changed in demeanor from the first time I knew him in the 1970's until the last time I saw him years later. His quiet confidence, thoughtful approach, and care for those around him distinguised him in a group itself known for those characteristics. The best FBI Executives never stop thinking of themselves as FBI Agents, an attitude which Gene came by naturally. As Jim Powers, Gene and my first Section Chief at FBIHQ was wont to say: "We will be a long time forgetting him."

Gene Glenn was not a close personal friend but the little I knew him the greater respect I had for him. We shared several experiences both on the inspection staff and at FBIHQ. I was an admirer of his steady and deliberate approach to life. I enjoyed the many conversations I had when he was "re-assigned" back to FBIHQ in his last couple of months before he retired.

I liked the way he told it like it was and sufferred with the dignity, only a gentleman like him could. I always loved...

Gene and I were Inspectors together and we traveled to many common places. He was a true gentleman in every aspect of the word. He had a dry sense of humor and a smile that would sneak out every so often. He was a man of dignity and stood steadfast in his beliefs. I very much enjoyed him as a person and he leaves behind a wonderful legacy. His family will truly miss him because they were his top priority. God took Gene early and he must have a plan for him...perhaps another emergency in...

Gene was dear friend and colleague. I will miss him.

My thoughts and prayers are with Gene's family. As a fellow SAC, I always respected and admired Gene as a principaled and thoughful leader and friend. He was a man who was always ready to help his less tenured peers. All who had the privilege of knowing and working with Gene knew him to be the all too rare leader who led by example.
God Bless.
