Gene Hand

I was an environmental consultant to Gene for decades on his various investment properties. Met family through his dad (Claude) who ran Hand Motors in La Grande while going to college there. Sad at the loss of a fine man and so grateful to have known and worked with Gene. His dad liked me too!

I just recently learned of Gene's passing, and am so terribly sorry. Gene was our neighbor of many years--one of my favorites-- and this memorial is such a revelation! He played jazz piano? Danced the tango? Why am I surprised? I knew him more as a lover of old cars, a gentle, tolerant man with a wry humor, a twinkle, a great love of family. He took such pride in his wife Patsy's many gifts and accomplishments. I already missed him as a neighbor, since we moved away, and now I feel bereft in...
