Not sure what to say?

It is with fond memories I remember Mr. Hartley. He was my teacher for several classes. What comes to mind and what stuck with me all of my life is something I remember him saying often..." I don't want excuses... I want results." I used this many times with my own three children. Being our class of 1955 Sponser endeared him to all of us. We would get together and go to see him perform in the "Starlight Opera" I enjoyed it so much that when I got married my husband bought us Season Tickets....

MR HARTLEY AND I WOULD TALK ABOUT THE WAR AND HIS FLYING OF HIS B-24.

I am so sorry for the family's loss.
I remember so well after practice he wanted to show me he could strike me out. He threw a big curve ball and I hit it on the button....

I was saddened to see the notice about Mr. Hartley's passing. We just had our Kearny High School Class of 1955 50th Reunion and had tried to locate him since he was a beloved teacher and mentor. One of my favorite memories is when our girl's social group attended one of his performances at Starlight Opera and proudly presented him with a very large congratulatory horse-shoe shaped arrangement decorated with Kleenex Tissue carnations. Don't ask--there's no good reason for either the shape...
