Uncle Gene will be missed by his family and friends. I had the honor at the age of 17 years old in 1962, to be his nephew and service under his Command, until I joined the Air Force in 1963. God has taken him home to a much better place, however, the family and many others will always have the memories to share, nothing no one can ever take away from you.

Col Kizer, Commander Emeritus of The Sumter Guards of Charleston, will be missed. Former Commander of Company A, 1-118th, and commanding when the Hagood Armory was built in 1963, he remained active with "His" unit until this year. He will surely be missed.
