Gene and my brother John, were best buddies from 8th grade through high school. He was around our place a lot and was almost like another brother to me. There was much laugheter (and a little mischief too) when Gene was around. Gene and my brother spent hours tinkering on electronic projects of all kinds. Gene was my baby brother, and because of my age I wasn't able to attend the service. Just wanted everyone there in California and the rest of the world to know I loved my brother very much and will miss him. May God rest his soul and comfort all our hearts till we see him again.

I grew up wanting to be like him in many ways. I spent many hours with him when he was a teen and younger.My dad talked him into enlisting in the Navy. The last I talked to him was when my dad past in December. He told me he would see all of us in Wisconsin this fall. He was a good Uncle and a great American, he'll be missed.
