My memory of my contact with Gene, however short, has lasted for over 50 years. I first met him through the Environmental Commission (then called the Conservation Commission) and enjoyed seeing him during his many runs past my house on Carol Avenue, while he was wearing his distinctive red cap. I am stunned to hear about Gene's death. He was a very special person in my career development at NHS. I will always be grateful for his leadership, his confidence in me and his friendship. Praying that God will continue to Bless you with His Strength and His Grace during this difficult time.

We are very sorry to hear of Gene's passing. We will always remember what a great neighbor he was. Running 50 miles on his 50th birthday, to Great Adventure and back, we'll always remember that. Our heartfelt condolences.

My heartfelt condolences to Gene's family. As a neighbor and friend of Gene's, our community will be greatly diminished by his passing. We will miss his good cheer, his hale and hearty demeanor, as well as his strength and decency.
