FRIENDS ARE FOREVER....... .......Gene is a forever friend.

Gene´s will always be remembered for me by his vivid sense of life, his love of people of all walks, his genuine smile seen through the sparkle of mischief in his eyes, plus capped by his ever present dash of humor and kindness. Yes, we miss you Gene, yet we will always hold your unique gifts in the friendship you offered.

Gene was a powerful humanitarian. His passion to have positive impact on everyone was truly miraculous. He loved for me to talk about my checkered past, but thorough and fair when interviewing me for the anti-violence/gang's city contract. We saved and changed many lives those years. I developed nationally accredited programs for county, state and federal programs...I was reviewed by the best. Gene's sincere and intense questioning help us gain National Recognition for collaboration of city,...

Conversations with Gene was like opening a wonderous book you thought you knew. He was rarely afraid to ask powerfully strong questions of the past, present and future. I feel to this day his commitment to our city, our country but most of all our children. He gave me the opportunity of a life- time during our challenges with the gang population and destructive elements...he constructively drilled me when we made the Jammin' Company and Boys and Girls Club a nationally recognized program for...

Such a captivating legacy written with devotion. I learned even more about this gentle guy who clearly loved life, people, history and context of the essential ways of living `the good life´. He seemed to make each moment count and left the lasting impression of this gift to so many of us who knew him.

Gene was a wonderful colleague and friend to me for decades. I am so saddened by his passing. Love and comfort to his family!

I would like to express my sincere condolences to Gene's family. He was a Volunteer Tutor here at the Napa County Library from 2012-2018, where he helped five students achieve success they would not have otherwise if not for his altruism. Gene was lively, spoke about his family often and kept me in stitches with his humor. He will be greatly missed.
