Not sure what to say?

Gene was a dear friend and neighbor during the 6 years that I was associated with him before moving to GA. I'm saddened to hear that he was again in pain. He endured so much and never complained. I will always remember is soft and sweet nature and those horrible jokes..lol. Rest in Peace dear friend. Thank you so much for all your help !!

Gene was a really nice man. I only briefly had the chance to meet him, but I am sadden to hear he is gone. He will be missed at the court house.

Gene was a friend of our family for may years. My wife Judy and Gene worked together in the same office of Mr. Douglas Greer in Oak Park. There was hardly a day that went by that we didn't send jokes back and forth to each other.
He finally got his life and his body in good shape. He would come to our family get together's . I never ever heard him say a bad thing about anyone unless it was said in a joke that he made up.
The James family (Judy & Art )...

Gene was such a wonderful and kind friend I remember the 1st day working for my old boss Tosha, I was trying to get things done and was so nervous. Gene would come in sit down and within a few minutes he would have me laughing and all my fears where gone. I am sure Gene is telling those who will listen his jokes. He will be missed. Take Care Gene thanks for all you have done for others including me! Your Friend,

I was saddened to learn from my mother that Gene had surrendered this life for another in Heaven. My condolences to his family. Gene was in my scout troop 246. When I think back, he always had an off the wall joke that made me laugh. I saw him after many years as he was leaving the ortho docs office we used. We talked for a long time to catch up on where we'd been and things we'd done. I'm sure Gene has touched many with his always optimistic outlook and will be missed by all.

No words of sympathy can ease the loss of Gene.Gene & I worked together for close to 10 years. He was a mentor & genuine friend, never too busy to answer a question for me. He was a true confidant, polite & noble gentleman. My entire family, especially my husband,Art, cared about Gene. I believe Gene knew that others truly cared.
Sincerely,
Judy James

PS A special Thank You to Tosha, who was always there for Gene, day in & day out, & his last day on earth.

We have many fond memories of Gene and the Prather family. The pinocle years, yes the bad jokes that even his Mom cautioned him about. The phone conversations we enjoyed, we would ask him how things were going and he would say,"crimes up, business is good." He was always upbeat and positive, even the last time we talked.
He will be missed. I'm sure he is telling some "heavenly" jokes now.
Much love to Bonnie, John, Sue and Ray.

We will miss Gene so very much, as a brother, uncle and friend. We had alot of good times, shared alot of laughs-even with his jokes! He will always be in our hearts.

I enjoyed working with Gene when I was a deputy district attorney. He was always ready with one of his patented jokes. I used to tell him that I measured them on a groan scale; the longer the groan the cornier the punchline. He brought a much needed smile into the courtroom. Gene was a true gentleman. He will be missed.
