Gene and Lucy were my second set of parents growing up in Freehold Twp. There wasn't anything they wouldn't do for me while John and I would roam around NJ and get ourselves in trouble one way or another. I can't remember how many times Gene came to my rescue with a gallon of gas in my 67' CJ Jeep while I was stuck on the side of some back road in Freehold and Howell NJ. Back in the day without cell phones you only have one or two chances to reach someone on their home phone when stuck on...
