Gene Conway Rohr

Gene Conway Rohr, 55, of Thomas Nelson Highway, Lovingston, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville.

Born November 27, 1953, in Charlottesville, a son of the late Benjamin Conway Rohr and Dora Lee Bibb Rohr of Charlottesville.

Gene was a member and Sunday school teacher at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Lovingston and was a retired refrigeration technician with International Cold Storage in Covesville.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Patsy Rohr, of Lovingston; a son, Richard Rohr of New Mexico; a sister, Margaret Fitch and her husband, Peter, of Charlottesville; an aunt, Lois Watson of Charlottesville; mother-in-law, Ardell Simmons, and her sister, Estell Barb, of Harrisonburg; a nephew, Peter Fitch IV; a niece, Jennifer Folsom of Alexandria, and a granddaughter, Amy Marie Rohr.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2009, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Pastor David Christian officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009, at the funeral home.
