Not sure what to say?

Dee:

It has been a month since you left us -
left the land of the dying to go to the land of the living. I never thought that you would not be here, with us, for Maggie's wedding day or the birth of her first child. Your quick departure is a reminder of how precious is this life and those we share it with. When we were dating, you mailed me a post card with this scripture reference - "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to...

My wife and I did not know that Dee had passed until this past Sunday, 8/16/09. We could not believe it. We drove to the church cemetary that afternoon to see with our own eyes that it was true, standing over the spot where his body was laid to rest. As others have posted, he was a great person. He was not impressive for the usual worldly reasons. Not handsome, (but certainly not ugly either Dee!), not rich, but not poor, not sucessful by the world's standards, but absolutely not a...

I was so sorry to hear about Dee passing on. I saw him so many years ago, in the 1960's, in Stuart at Grandma Smart's house, probably during a family reunion. I am one of his Uncle Buren's daughters. Wish I could have known him better. Condolences to all of his family.

Dee graduated with me from Patrick Henry. I just heard of his death last night and was totally shocked. It has been about a year or two since I had seen him in Ashland and stopped to chat. Dee was a kind and good man. I know he will be missed. Special condolences to his daughter.

Barry & Family ~

We had the privilege of knowing Dee through Ruritans. He was such a nice person and had such a funny wit. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family during this sad time.

Dee was such a unique person, whether it be his "spontaneous" smile, or one of his corny jokes. Everytime I saw him, I looked forward to both. He is now where we will all be someday ... Where the fairways are straight and long, and the greens are a "ONE" putt everytime. Tee it up High DEE!

Gene and I were friends through work at Downing and Assoc. in the late 80's. He was a dear friend with a big, caring heart and will be missed.

Barry,
Debra, Courtney and I are so sorry to hear about your brother. I was shocked to hear the news this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Sincerely, Jerry, Debra and Courtney

Barry and family,
I am so shocked and sorry to hear of your loss. I just found out. I would have attended the viewing tonight, but felt it best that I not. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you all, especially to Maggie. If there is anything we can do, please let us know, even if its just to listen or hold a hand for a bit. Sincerely, Jacque, Jake, Robbie, and Ross.
