Not sure what to say?

Based my 40 years in Basbeall,I can honestly say that Gene Thompason was a scout among scouts with a splendid track record to prove it. It was a prviledge to say I was once associated with him. May he rest in peace.

It is not often that in such a short time period one person can affect another in the way that Junior affected me. To the family, my thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time. May you find peace and tranquility in the days to come. To Junior, thank you for the stories and memories. I will never forget your graciousness, your smiles even when you didn't feel like smiling and of course I will never forget how wonderful apricots and saltine crackers are as a snack. I was...

I'm saddened by Gene's passing but smiling at the same time because I know Dorothy is once again at his side and neither are in any pain. I loved both and am as Blessed as the others who were lucky enough to be a part of his life.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. The world will be a better place for having him here on earth and I am a better person for having the chance to meet him. He was a joy to be around. Although his spirit lives on, his stories, his humor, his smile, the twinkle in his eye...will be greatly missed.

Gene taught me many things in my 6 years of being a professional baseball scout. I would sit and listen for hours at hight school games where he and I were the only scouts. He took me under his wing and showed me many things.

Major League Baseball has lost one of its dearest brothers.

Wishing that God to bless the Thompson family at this most difficult time.
