Gene Van Zee

To the family of Doc Van Zee, We want to extend our sympathy. Your dad and mom sent support to us while we were on the mission field in Africa of which we are forever grateful. It was hard to raise support for us to be volunteers and it was wonderful that they cared for us. I was Carolyn Menninga and I was a part of Pella I with my first husband. Anton & I are now living just east of Pella, just past the birthplace of your dad.

Dr. Van Zee was my doctor throughout my 29 years in Pella. He was a wonderful, caring physician.

Dr. Van Zee was such a special person. He was an important part of our senior adult Bible study. It was an honor to study God's Word together with him.

He delivered both of my children. He was also my favorite Doctor back in those days. My mom (being Japanese) used to make Japanese food and take it to his house when they still lived in Pella. Deepest Sympathies to his family.

Dr. Gene, and Sylvia, were such a great addition to our Sunshine small group when moved to GR. Both were so gracious and Gene a true gentleman, always having concerns for those around him. We count it a privilege to have known him ( and Sylvia) He will be greatly missed.

Dr. Van Zee was my doctor and delivered two of my children. I really missed him when he left Pella. He was a great doctor and left a legacy in Pella. Later he was my friend on Facebook.

We were so sad to hear of Genes passing! He holds a special place in my heart!!( my oldest cousin, I believe) many wonderful memories of him, your mom and all you girls!! Hugs and prayers to you all!!!
