Gene making tamales -- Tamale Class at Frank and Marianne's (January 2010)

We were so sorry to hear of Gene's passing. We loved him, and will miss him so much! May the love and memories you two shared comfort you in this very difficult and sad time.

I was so sorry to hear of Gene's passing. While we didn't know the two of you for a very long time, we certainly grew to love you both. He was a very special man, and from what I can tell since I've known him, he will have a very special place in heaven. The love between the two of you was so special, something not everyone is blessed with. My utmost sympathy and sincerest respect go out to you and your family. May the Lord be with you during this very difficult time.

With deepest sympathy, may the power of prayer ease your sorrow, give you peace and provide much comfort for you and your family during this difficult time. (Matthew 21:22)

A bonafide patriot and a gentleman to the core. We only got to know him after he had retired but it would have been a thrill to have known him as a younger man. Hearing him talk about some of his exploits would leave you in awe! We will miss you Sir! RIP

Carolyn, what is this party???

We loved this guy! He was a real American hero, a true Officer and Gentleman. He lived life full throttle and was an inspiration to everyone lucky enough to get to know him. Steve and I count ourselves among the lucky. RIP Gene!

Gene was an extraordinary man. We are honored to have known him.
