My deepest condolences to all of you. Dr. Watterson was my pastor when I was growing up in Shelby. He was a kind, compassionate and wonderful pastor.

Dearest Dot, I saw Gene's name on the prayer list the past two Sunday's and attempted to call you to see what was going on. Now, I know. I am so sorry this happened. Bill and I extend our prayers and thoughts to you and your families. You two were special to us. Love you, Ann Rabb, Bluff Park United Methodist Church

Thank you for your service, Dr. Watterson, to your country as a Navy man and to your God as a compassionate, caring minister. Those you've touched over all the years will never forget you.

He was a dear friend and a wonderful pastor. I can assure you many of us went to church just to hear him speak. If he ever used notes, we all missed it. May The Lord be with you and keep you my friend.

We were so saddened to hear of Dr. Watterson's passing. He was such a dear man and dedicated pastor. I served as his secretary at First Baptist Church in Blowing Rock, NC where he served as our interim Pastor. He was a true man of God. Our sincere sympathy to his family.
