My most heartfelt condolences to his family, and to the FBC congregation! Dr. Watterson was my pastor during my years in Shelby, conducted my pre-marital counseling and marriage ceremony, dedicated my two sons and conducted too many family members' funerals to mention. We were so saddened to hear of Dr. Watterson's passing. He was such a dear man and dedicated pastor. I served as his secretary at First Baptist Church in Blowing Rock, NC where he served as our interim Pastor. He was a true man of God. Our sincere sympathy to his family.
