Not sure what to say?

Harriet. We were so shocked to hear of Genes homegoing. We so appreciated the time he spent coaching our son Jeff at First Baptist. I am thankful that each time we saw Gene we told him of our appreciation.
Please know that our prayers are with you and your family. We know God has said "Well done good and faithful servant" to Gene.

In Christs love,
Rannie and Cheryl Clifton

Travis,

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and my prayers. If I can do anything for you or for your family, please don't hesitate to call.

In sympathy,
Holland Long

Gene was a very special person. He had the ability to teach youth about Jesus like no one I've ever meet. He and Harriet have made Preston Oaks a better place just by being there. We'll miss Gene but know he's in Heaven with our Savior.

I also remember Gene from the Fleming Class of '61. From reading his obituary and the messages left by his friends, he lead a wonderful productive life and was an model to all. His family should be very, very proud of him. And I am sure he is with his beloved Savior.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help at this time.

Emily (25) called to say "Mom did you know Coach died". So we are taking this moment to let you know that you and your family are in our thoughts at this time and to thank you for sharing Gene with us. You both had Nathaniel and Emily in sunday school and of course he was Nathaniel's coach. I lived through many years of "Coach said". I know he is happy in heaven with the Lord. We are holding you up in prayer at this time as you must deal with missing him.

We came to know Coach Wine when our son was in his Sunday School class and played on his team. God blessed him with such a deep understanding of youth at that age, especially the boys who were on the brink of manhood. We loved him, our son loved him and that meant the world to us. I am reminded of the lyrics to the Ray Boltz song "thank you for giving to the Lord, I am a life that was changed." No doubt, as the ages go by, there will be many young people in heaven as a direct result of...

Travis & Trey,
I know how difficult things must be for you right now. Sue Ellen and I lost our father just last month. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and please let us know if there is anything we can do for you and your mom.

Mary Ann (Garrett) Gober

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
