I began teaching with Gen at Woodland Elementary School back in 1970. I admired her as a teacher/mentor and as a friend. There were many times when she 'said it like it was', with no frills attached. Those were indeed learning experiences for me.
Her sense of humor was always welcome, especially on a bad day with the kids!
Rest easy Gen. You're in good hands.

Though I was never in her class, Mrs. Andrek was one of my favorite teachers at Fremont Elementary School. She will be remembered fondly by those who knew her.
