Fall River, Massachusetts
1934 - 2013
Genevieve H. (Jenny) Forczyk, passed away on June 23, 2013 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Fall River on November 4, 1934 to Martin and Tekla (Gnyp) Kraska. Genevieve attended Holy Cross Elementary School and BMC Durfee High School. At the age of 19 she married the love of her life and then became the devoted mother to three daughters and four grandchildren. Genevieve loved her family and friends unconditionally and she selflessly provided a warm and caring home for all of them .Her husband and children always came first. When her grandchildren came along, she was affectionately called "Babcia." Genevieve was an incredibly strong, beautiful, talented, and nurturing woman who touched the lives and became a role model to everyone she met. She was happiest when she was cooking her Polish delicacies, hosting family holiday celebrations, taking care of and helping to raise her cherished grandchildren, dining out and shopping with her daughters, spending time working in her yard, boating on Narragansett Bay and taking care of her beloved puppies. Nothing was impossible with this great lady and when difficult times came along, she gave the hope, encouragement and advice that were needed to move on. Genevieve is survived by her husband of 59 years Stanley and three daughters, Joyce Decosta , Doreen Carberry and her husband Daniel, and Elaine Forczyk all of Tiverton RI. She was a cherished Babcia to Patrick and Samantha Carberry and Callan and Kelly Decosta. She is also survived by her brother Walter Kraska of Swansea and a sister Stella Jennings of Fall River along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in life by her brother John Kraska and her sisters Victoria Furman, Ann Walsh, Helen and Mary Kraska. Mrs. Forczyk's funeral will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 9:00AM from the Boulé Funeral Home, 615 Broadway, Fall River, followed by a Mass at 10:00AM in Holy Rosary Church, 120 Beattie Street, Fall River. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. Online guestbook available at www.boulefuneralhome.com

Joyce, I am so sorry for your loss.
Your mom was such an inspiration to me. She would always walk with her head held high, with such confidence.
I remember when she looked at me and said, "you're to young to be stuck in a sewing shop". She then introduced me to you, and that was the beginning of a great friendship and a new, and better future.
With that twinkle in her eye, and that beautiful smile, you know she knew best.
I'm fortunate, and proud to have called her...
