Not sure what to say?

(To: The Family of Dr. Genevieve Madeline Knight; From: Dr. Archie W. Earl, Sr., Former Associate Professor of Mathematics & Faculty Senate President, Norfolk State University) I am deeply sorry to hear about the passing of my former Hampton University (HU) mathematics professor, Dr. Genevieve Madeline Knight. She was a great teacher and researcher. I was a graduate student at Hampton University, working on my master's degree in mathematics, when she was hired, there, as a professor, in the...

I met Dr. Knight when I was a student at Hampton. She was the mathematics education teacher. Dr. Knight showed love and dedication to her students. Years later, I had the opportunity to work with her at Hampton. At the faculty dinners, she wanted me to bring my southern macaroni and cheese dish. We exchanged Christmas cards for many years. Dr. Knight was "an old school" teacher. She wanted you to understand what you were taught so that you could always find the solutions to the problems...

To the family, I would like to extend my condolences to you. Losing a loved one in death breaks our heart. Please know that you can find comfort and strength in leaning God as your source of comfort and strength. Isa. 41:10 says he will hold on to you with his right hand of righteousness. Cherish the loving memories.

My heart felt sympathy to the family and friends. Dr Knight was our Hidden Figure of Hampton Inst. From 1963- her tenure she influenced our math dept. A pleasure to know and be influenced by. Great memories. Rest in Peace Great One.

I send sincere sympathy to the family. Dr. Knight was an inspiration to me at Hampton Institute University. Hers was the first Christmas card I received for many years after Hampton. Tomorrow has begun without her.
