Genevieve Eileen Smith

Ms Smith was a one-of-a-kind teacher who left an indelible impression on every student who was lucky enough to pass through her doors. She was my Block teacher in 7th grade at Cedar Park, so I had her for both English and History classes, back-to-back. She expected excellence in behavior and performance, but she was fair, and it was clear that she cared about our success. I've both thought of and spoken of her regularly over the years. As I sat down to work on a paper for graduate school I began writing an outline. I then realized I'd been using them for nearly 2 decades. Outlines have been ingrained in me for that time thanks to Mrs. Smith and it's a skill I'll always use and advocate for in the future. It's a small piece of her memory but one that will last a long time. I was wondering what she had been up to and was saddened to see this but at the same time, happy she was able to live so much longer after her retirement....
