TYSON Genevieve A. Genevieve A. Tyson, 91, a charter member of the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs and a 50-year member of the Bowling Green Woman's Club, died Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at her home on Defiance Pike. She was well known for baking wedding cakes, and her cake decorating had been praised as being an art form. Mrs. Tyson served as president at both the local and state levels of the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs. She held offices with the Bowling Green Woman's Club and district women's clubs. She was a charter member of the Wood County Hospital Guild. She also had served as a trustee for the former Wood County Mental Health Center, and was an active member of the Wayne United Methodist Church and its women's groups. Mrs. Tyson published the genealogies of both the Tyson and Kerr families. Born February 12, 1915, in Cygnet, to Emmett and Mary (Copeland) Kerr, she married Dale Tyson on April 25, 1932. He preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, Donald and Merrill and a sister, Helen. Surviving are two sons, Dale, Jr., of King of Prussia, PA and Kenneth E., of Portage; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. The funeral will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. in the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home, 218 E. Wooster St., Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Portage Township. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 20, 2006, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
