I was a Salesian Lay Missionary from 2000-2002. When I came for my orientation at the Marian Shrine, Fr. Sesto suggested I might want to serve as a missionary at the retreat center at the Shrine. I told him that I'd had my heart set on Africa for many years....I ended up serving in Bolivia. However, upon finishing there, I continued my service for 6 more months at the Shrine, as a result of his request.
