Not sure what to say?

Yvonne,
I just heard of George's passing today. The person who told me thought I had known but I didn't and am still trying to absorb it all. Please know that you and the girls are in my thoughts and prayers.

God Bless,

Therese Butler

So sorry to hear of George's passing. I hadn't seen him in many years, but still feel your loss deeply. Yvonne and all family members are in my thoughts and prayers.

I 've been reading through all the guestbook entries. I am happy to know that my brother touched so many lives with his one passion, Music. I really thought that we had more time and for that I apologize to you George. I have wonderful memories of growing up with you. You were spontaneous and fun. The world has become a little more bland without your passion to help light it up.

My heartfelt sympathies are with the Akehurst family at this most difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. The few times I had the pleasure of talking with George was when I would drop my daughter at their house for a visit, he was a gentle spirit and a very kind man. My prayers are with Yvonne and family.

We wanted to express our deepest sympathy to the entire Akehurst family and especially to Yvonne, Georgia, and Lydia. George was a loving husband and father and beyond talented musician. We saw his wonderful qualities weekly for ourselves being at your home for the last seven years with our daughters Dominique and Natalia for violin lessons. Even prior to them taking lessons he was the music teacher at the preschool they attended and it was evident even then his gift for music, love of life,...

George is irreplaceable in our hearts. The world will never be the same. But in his technological genius, his gentleness, his infinite patience, virtuosity, extraordinary teaching and love of music it is enriched. My daughter, for whom he was an adored mentor, said immediately through her grief, "George is having so much fun with Mozart and Beethoven in Heaven". I've read, 'Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and...

George was more than a friend, more than a great musician, more than words can describe. An incredible human being. A friend since childhood, a band mate from the earliest days, I miss you and will remember you always.
Yvonne, Paula, Jolene and Casey and kids, My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My mother and I are deeply saddened by this news. George was an inspiration, a kind and benevolent man whose encouragement and acceptance of others was surpassed by none. My mother played violin with George from before there was a Stone Soup, and admired him greatly. After her retirement from performing, George would acknowledge her in the audience. She is now approaching 93 and maintains an active music listening schedule, while having suffered a debilitating stroke last year. She...

The world just lost an amazing man, husband, Father, Brother, Friend, Uncle, Musician...I love you Uncle George...
