Fun memories of the time I received a call from George one summer asking to meet with me in Kingston Ontario. He wanted to talk about a date for a regatta that would work for Ontario schools. I suggested the Canadian thanksgiving Sunday since the annual Brock Invitational was held on the Saturday. That allowed Ontario schools to travel to Rochester to race the next day. Back when the only rowing in Rochester was on Irondequoit Bay, John Bernfield and I kept 'running into' George, which still seems impossible! He was always good humored, helpful and understanding...with us then, and to many others throughout his life.

George was a fine man and a true gentleman. Condolences to the Angle family.

I believe is was in the summer of 1987 that I received a call from George. He was calling me in my capacity as Head Coach, Rowing at Queen's University in Kingston Ontario. At that time he and his wife Vee were holidaying at their cottage on the St. Lawrence River opposite Gananoque. When we subsequently met he wanted to explore the viability of developing a rowing regatta in Rochester and wanted my advice regarding a date that would entice Canadian universities to attend.
