Not sure what to say?

Mrs Arthur, Hugh, Janice and George I have known you guys for 45 years but it seems like yesterday. Even though we don’t see each other often that doesn’t diminish the love I have for you guys. Know that I love each and everyone of you and you remain in my prayers as well as in my heart. Love to you all.

To: The Family of George K. Arthur Sr. Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your Loved one and a friend of mine of many years. I had the honor and pleasure of working with "George K" for a long time. He was a Public Servant and a Community Treasure. Bob Penn

My heartfelt condolences to George's family. I am so sorry for your loss. It is my loss too, for George was my friend and my mentor in the civil rights movement in Buffalo for more than 50 years. I first met him shortly after I came back to Buffalo from the March on Washington, August 28, 1963, when he was on the Erie County Board of Supervisors. I helped to gather evidence for the successful Buffalo school desegregation law suit, Arthur v. Nyquist, for which George was lead plaintiff. ...

My condolences to your family. Lived in the city from 1976. to 2003. Had a business on East Delavan. Hoelscher's. Me and my dad and mom and family until he got alzheimers. Take care. Better days going forward. Once told to me, we are only here for a visit.

I am so sorry for your loss. The City has lost a great statesman. I have the greatest respect and admiration for Council President Arthur, “The Boss.” I owe my entire career to the start he provided me and I will be forever grateful for his support and tutelage. The City is so much better for all his contributions. He will be missed.

I am extremely sorrowed at the passing of a dear friend of the Lucca family for decades, George was a most kind and dedicated city official who always had the time for this old reporter either on official or personal matters. His annual Christmas card from George and Frances was always the first received. To Frances and family, our love and prayers. Now George's dream of riding over Route 66 can become a reality.

I remember working with Councilman Arthur on the Bob Coles Ellicott Housing. He was a first class gentleman in every was, smart, hard working and a pleasure to work with . God rest.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief, and find comfort from knowing that God draws close to the broken-hearted.
