George J. Asprocolas, Sr. age 80 of Brick, NJ formerly of Edison, NJ passed away on Friday, March 25th. George was a graduate of East Stroudsburg University, PA. He received a master’s degree from Seton Hall University and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp. George retired having worked as a History teacher and Visual Aids Coordinator in Edison, NJ. He also served as Council President in Edison and was the Mayor of Edison for a short time.
Son of the late George F. Asprocolas and Rose Kraszewski Asprocolas; brother of his late sisters Carol Bryon and Diane Nance, he is survived by his wife Judith, a son George Jr. and his companion Gina a daughter Michele Farrell and her husband Robert ; seven grandchildren, Michael and his wife Jackie, Georgette, James and Grayson Asprocolas; Isabelle, Annie and Robert Farrell; two great-grandchildren, Beau and Mason Asprocolas; his sister Lauren Moskal and Kathy Wagle; his brothers, Timothy Asprocolas and his wife Susan and Larry DeBoer; his Aunts Clara Rynkiewicz, Terry Coanshock and her husband Walter and Rita Huddleston and her husband WJ. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, 885 Mantoloking Rd. Brick, NJ; followed by a mass at the Church of Visitation on Friday, April 1,2016 at 11:00am.Cremation will be private. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.weatherheadyoung.com

I enjoyed talking with George when I was starting my career in the 1980's in Edison. I recall he was an avid sportsman. One time he was unable to attend our backyard party so he donated a deer ham to the party. My condolences to family.
