Not sure what to say?

Over the years I have learned a great deal from Professor Oban about American Indian languages in Southern New England. I use his work extensively to help the Narragansett tribe bring back their own language. His works in this area have been extremely helpful. May he rest in peace.

Dear Nanette and family, I was very sad to learn about your parents' death. I have fond memories of times my husband and I spent with Judy and George at social gatherings, especially if there was a piano. Having had my office next to your father's gave me frequent opportunities for questions and conversations about linguistics and comparing languages. His enthusiasm for Native American studies was boundless, and so was his knowledge. You are in my thoughts. I am sending love and condolences to...

My deepest sympathies to the entire Aubin family and all who knew and loved him. George was my cousin and I still remember spending holidays at my Aunt Ellen's home ending the day with George playing the piano and his sisters dancing to the music! May your cherished memories help bring you all through this most difficult time.

Dr Aubin taught one of my favorite classes at Assumption. His work and knowledge of Native American/First Peoples, their history and the issues faced by them helped open my eyes to things I had always taken for granted. I will always remember him fondly.

Sunday evenings at Assumption (in the mid-sixties, on his own time) with a small group of students, reading the book "Zazie sur le Metro". How can one forget the laughs, his playing honky-tonk on the upright piano and the wonder of knowing so many of the words in the book were not to be found in the Petit Larousse dictionary. He revelled at the street talk depicted in the small book about a street urchin in France. His enjoyment in the linguistics was infectious to those of us privileged to...

I had Professor Aubin as a student at AC for Native American studies. He had a great knowledge and passion for the subject. He was a kind man and a very good teacher. My condolences.

Dear Aubin family, Please accept my sympathy on the loss of George, whom I liked a lot...always ready with a smile and a bit of piano, not to mention apt French sayings. He really made Assumption Assumption.
May he rest in peace, and may you be consoled by his memory.

Dear Gerard and Michele: My deepest sympathy to all of you. George was such a kind and lovely man. I cannot recall ever seeing him without a smile on his face. I hope the knowledge that he is in the presence of God brings you comfort.

I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to the Aubin family. George was an extraordinary man and wonderful colleague. I routinely marveled at his breadth of knowledge during our many conversations in Founders Hall and learned so much from him. Generous and kind, he showed interest in my work and always offered support. Sitting next to George during commencement exercises remains among my fondest memories; our discussion of the etymology of names and surnames of our graduating seniors was...
