Not sure what to say?

We knew Allen and Donna as good neighbors for 14 years. They loved to travel and would share their experiences with us. Their love for each other, their family, their church, friends and neighbors was visible with smiles and kindness. We want to express our sympathy to Donna, their children, grandchildren, great grandchild and Allen's sister. We recognize their deep loss. Allen made a positive impact on our lives that we will never forget.

To Donna and all of Chief Barber's family and friends; on behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans (USSVI) please accept our sincere condolences in this time of loss and mourning. Our prayer is that God will bless you with peace, comfort you, and heal your broken hearts. We are especially thankful for George's service to our country in the U.S. Submarine Service during the Cold War on the destroyer USS Fiske DD/DDR-842 and submarines USS Carp SS-338 FT2 1959-60, USS Ethan Allen...

Please accept our deepest sympathy on the passing of your loved one. Your family is in our thoughts and in our prayers. Mayor Minnie Newman-Blackwell and Hanahan City Council: Dan Owens, Kevin Cox, Mike Dyson, Jeff Chandler, Michael Sally, and Joel Hodges.

George was one of the 1st Knights I met when I was dating my husband. He always made me feel welcome . George could brighten up any room with his hardy laugh. We will be truly loosing a beautiful soul, but Heaven will be gaining a great angel. All George's family will be in our hearts, thoughts,& prayers.

In the too short time I got to know George, he became a good friend. His easy nature, welcoming smile and his joyful giving of his time and talent to help others is what one remembers of George. He was a true follower of Christ, who has been called home too soon for the rest of us. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let Your perpetual light shine upon him.

To the Barber Family,
George was such a great person to work with
at (DFAS). He helped me many days with security. Enjoy your memories. Rest in Peace, George.

To the Barber Family,

On behalf of the Charleston Base SUBVETS and Swamp Fox Chapter SUBVETS WWII, I offer you our sincere condolences on George's passing. We grieve with you on the loss of your loved one and all SUBVETS and their families have your family in our thoughts and prayers. There is no expiration date on the back of our dolphins and George will always be remembered as a “Brother of the Phin” and a great Patriot.

Very few people I have known have had the abilty to say volumes by their actions alone as did George . He was a good friend and an example to try to follow. I miss you already.
