Not sure what to say?

I met George Barrus during his stay in Skellefteå Sweden. My parents who had been living in Chicago and could speak English invited Georg and his friend to dinner on several occations. She could cook typical American food.
I was 14 years old and had just begun learning English.I spent quite some time with these two young nice men. We stayed in contact for some time even after they left Sweden. I know that his friend is dead and now I by accident learnt that even Georg has passed away. He...

I have met Elder George Barrus and Sister Barrus in Sri Lanka. Please accept my deepest sympathies.
Udeni R. Wijegunaratne.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. During this difficult time may you find strength with God and your memories of better days. May these words bring a measure of comfort, "Indeed, He is my rock and my salvation; my secure refuge; I will never be greatly shaken." (Psalms 62:2) My deepest condolences for your loss.

I remember well an interview I had with Bishop Barrus right after the Sacrament meeting in which my brother Dave spoke before leaving on his mission. Dave was always the "perfect" one in our family, and when he went on his mission I had another 15 months before mine. Yet, I didn't feel prepared or worthy to go at the time. After that Sacrament meeting, Bishop Barrus came out of his office and took my tithing envelope in the lobby. I guess I lingered a few seconds longer than I should, and he...

Brother Barrus is a great man. Reg treasures the time he got to teach primary with him...the two of them had the energy of the kids they taught, but the wisdom and passion for the gospel that they shared so enthusiastically that they drew even the hardest of kids in with their love. May he finally enjoy the freedom from the confines of his aged body and enjoy being with his dear wife.

Brother Barrus was my Advertising teacher and mentor at BYU. I remember him well for his thoroughness and passion for teaching us the principles of great advertising. He inspired all of us in class to do our very best work. He would then guide us to do even better. I remember that quality and example which has blessed my life. He is truly one of those great and noble ones.

I'll always remember his wit, his unfailing optimism, and his willingness to help anyone who needed his counsel. What luck that he married my mother's sister, so I could claim him as an uncle.
