George was a fantastic community leader. We met as part of our service to The Presidents Club of Dayton. He was always loyal to so many organizations and especially loved the City and people of Kettering. He was faithful to The Citizen Legion of Honor Award and was there to celebrate Bing Davis last fall. Peace be with you George and God´s blessings to you and your family. Phil Parker

There are so many wonderful memories that come to mind when remembering Uncle George. George was a master of involving himself in the world around him, especially leadership for Dayton & Kettering activities. When we was at Denison University he exhibited the same kind of service on campus. He co-chaired MelloMania, the first of its kind on college campuses. The event brought the George Shearing Quintet, The Salty Dogs from Purdue , and The Kingston Trio together for a single performance in Denison's Fieldhouse.
