I worked in the security office at Photon Research. I remember George as a very kind man. He was always busy working. I am sending my sincere condolences to his family. RIP George. Formerly, Terry Hall

Just found George on the internet. Sorry to hear he's gone. George and I started kindergarten together in Eagle Rock, and I knew him until I moved in 7th grade. I also studied physics, had an academic career, retired in 1999.

Dr Beardsley taught the calculus-based Physics class I took at Millsaps in 1983-84. It was one of my favorite courses. I appreciated his sense of humor and his ability to bring the concepts he was attempting to convey down to a level that even a History major such as myself could understand. He taught me a great deal. I offer my sincere condolences to his family.

I did not meet George until our shared experiences in raising families in the special Barber Tract neighborhood of La Jolla. George was quiet and a bit reserved so it took a while for me to learn that he had proceeded me at Chapel Hill as well as undergrad years at Stanford. I especially enjoyed his recall of the rigors of early morning training sessions when he rowed on the Stanford crew.
