Not sure what to say?

I will fondly remember Mr. Becht, a true gentleman with a giant bear hug and the warmest of smiles.
I am honored to have always been made to feel welcome in the Becht home.

Many days of my childhood were spent at the Becht house. Mr. Becht always had a smile on his face and a big 'how ya doin' young lady?'. I had the pleasure of enjoying many meals with the Bechts, the food was the best (of course) but the love and tenderness between Georgie and Joanie is what i will forever remember. Georgie was kind, gentle, loving and made me feel like one of his own. I will think of him often (especially when mixing up his famous onion dip)

With Love,...

My life-long love of reading came from my Dad and was one of the strongest bonds of mutual interest between us. The following motto from a prep school aptly describes one of George's educational philosophies....

"Goodness without knowledge is weak;
Knowledge without goodness is dangerous;
Both united form the noblest character, and lay the surest foundation of usefulness for mankind."

Thank you, Pop, for this foundation you instilled in me. I love you...

Dad and I on the Danube

My father was gentle man. My hope is that his memory, character, anecdotes and beauty live on in the hearts, minds and actions of his family and friends for generations to come. I love you Dad.

July, 2006 - Heidi & Zac's Wedding - Auburn, NY

From Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar,"...."His life was gentle, and the elements so mixed in him that Nature might stand up and say to all the world, "This was a man!"

David A. Stipkovich, Friend and Son-in-law

Mr. Becht was our step-grandfather. We never felt like step-grandchildren though, he treated us like the family that we were. And we adored him just the same. He will be missed very much but never fogotten. Our deepest sympathy to Mrs. Becht, all his children and grandchildren.
Love always,
Dina, Scott, Eva, Luke

I am going to miss Big G. He was a wonderful Father-in-law as well as a loving Grandpa to his granddaughter, Samantha. He always had a big smile on his face and a warm hug to give. To him everyone was special and he made sure you knew it. I feel truly blessed for having known him and privileged to be able to call him “Dad”
