Not sure what to say?

Eunice, what a blessing George was to so many of us who took lessons from him. He was a joy to be around. I was introduced to him by my mother, Gladys Bellanger. If I remember correctly, you two worked together at Bennett Pumps for a while. I'll never forget that wonderful smile he had. Pease and love to you and the rest of your family.

I'm sorry to hear about Mr. Bitner, a wonderful coach with a great sense of humor. At my first golf lesson he asked me to take a few practice swings. Next he asked me which 3 of the 100 things I was doing wrong did I want him to work on?! He will be missed!

I had the honor of Mr. Bitner a few years back and what a wonderful man and what a wealth of knowledge when it came to the game of golf. He will be missed.

Wonderful human. Fifth grade chip and putt program after school was my first encounter with this soft voiced giant. He was helpful, I´d like to say as a person he helped to change my grip on life and my golf clubs. In high school as my golf coach what he didn´t say had bigger impacts many a times than what he did say. I still hear his golf quips everyday ringing in my ears, like never up never in. Or, don´t swing so hard and the ball will actually fly much straighter. Those truck camper...

He was one of the best teachers I had. I was in 5th grade and had just got braces and was not happy about it. He said who cares just smile and be you. Then he said "you joining golf , its after school" to which i did . I still have the ribbons some 40 plus years later he gave me for long chipping and putting. :)

Mr. Bitner was a good teacher. Kind and caring. Prayers to his family.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Bitner. Our daughter had him for her teacher and 4 years for her golf coach. Such a great, kind person. Our prayers and condolences to all his friends and family.

My deepest sympathy to Eunice and George´s family. I first met George on the steps of VanRaalte Hall at Hope College where we established a friendship that has lasted until his "passing". Over the years we reconnected on social occasions, George in Spring Lake and me in Grand Rapids, both ultimately finding our way to coaching golf where we would enjoy friendly scrimmages. George was a true gentleman, had a "keen" knowledge of golf and probably had more golf clubs in his basement than the...

Greatest Golf Coach in the world!! Back in the 70's I'll never forget the rides in the back of his pickup truck going to golf meets, an adventure by itself. Getting outscored during practices when he played with only one club. Nice having him in my neighborhood and keeping in touch for so many years. Thank You Mr. Bitner for the many wonderful memories. May you rest in peace at the new 19th hole with our Lord in the Greener Pastures of Heaven.
