Cortland, Ohio - George "Lee" Blodgett, 56, died Thursday, April 20, 2017 at St. Joseph's Health Center. He was born on May 26, 1960 in Gardiner, Maine, the son of the late George Blodgett and Patricia McLaughlin. Lee was self employed as a Standardbred race horse trainer. He was a member of the Ohio Harness Horsemen's Association. Lee was actively involved in harness racing, racing at various tracks across the country throughout his lifetime. Lee particularly enjoyed racing his trotting mare Norma's Rose. Lee was an avid New England sports fan. He loved spending time with his family and friends laughing and telling stories. Memories of Lee will be carried on by wife, Lori Blodgett of Cortland, OH, mother, Patricia McLaughlin of Randolph, ME, daughter, Brianna (Thomas) Neer of Mt. Home, ID, daughter, Courtney Blodgett of Cortland, OH, sister, Sharon Nichols of Pittston, ME, sister, Carol Swan of Chelsea, ME, sister, Kelly McLaughlin of Augusta, ME, grandson, Connor Neer, grandson, Caleb Neer, granddaughter, Cara Neer, many nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his father, George Blodgett. Family will receive friends Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 5:00 pm 7:00 pm at McFarland & Son Funeral Home,Warren. A memorial service will be held at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Warren, Friday, April 28, 2017 at 10 a.m. with Father Carl Kish officiating.
