Patty and family my heartful sympathy goes out to each of you. I have fond memories of George from years of showing daffodils at the VDS show in Richmond. He was one of the anchors that held the early society together.

I worked with Mr. Bragdon at Marsh & McLennan and must say that he was the fairest man I ever knew. He was a Southern Gentleman even if he was from Maine. Those of us who worked with him will sorely miss him.

George's passing leaves a significant void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, particularly those of us in the wonderful world of daffodils. I will always remember Patty telling me that when she presented him with the hybrid daffodil that is being named for him, he smiled and kissed the flower. George was truly the consumate Southern Gentleman with a wonderful Yankee accent.
