Not sure what to say?

Dear Cannon Family,
I was sorry to hear of His pasing. He was my boss at Beneficial Life many years ago. I remember when I started he told me I was a new pair of eyes to the Company. If I saw that things could be done better, to let him know. That was an amazing thing to say to a new, young employee. I appreciated seeing him in the Temple with his wonderful wife, also. I"m sure he is busy now, too. My condolences, Charlene Bitner Hall

Dear Sister Cannon,
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of President Cannon. We have so many fond memories. He was a real icon in the Parley's Stake and everywhere he served. He was such a kind and gentle man who always made us feel the spirit he radiated. He will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Love,
John and Kathy Lewis

Dear Sister Cannon,

Thank you for sharing your remarkable companion with us these many years. You two are quite the dynamic duo! What an amazing example of integrity, kindness and faith is found in the life of George Cannon. His gentle leadership is legendary.

He was a good shepherd to so many, including our family. As our beloved Stake President, he seemed to know each individual in his stewardship by name, from oldest to youngest. My sister Deena recalls...

Dear Cannon Family,
How much we treasured your friendship. George (as my dad would call him) and Isabel were dear friends to my parents and they seemed to care about me just as much as my own parents. Both Roy and Kathleen were dead by the time my husband (Van Gessel) and I (Elizabeth Darley) received our call to preside over the Oregon Portland Mission. But George called to give his sweet encouragement and his ritual of saying D & C 4 every day. Then he actually sent us the papers...

Dear Sister Cannon – I have such wonderful memories of your family from the time I served as a Missionary in the Central British Mission under the leadership of President Cannon. He always reminded us that as missionaries, we were there to save souls. He was the perfect example and he taught that principle by the way he lived the Gospel. Jeanne and I saw you and President Cannon 4 years ago at the Peter Whitmer Farm in Fayette, New York. You were with a tour group and we ran into you in...

Dear Cannons,
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of your father. Although I'd only met him several times, we know from the great family he and your mother raised that he was a wonderful man. It has been our privilege to know and associate with you through many years, Grant since high school, Wayne and George since medical school, and most recently Kent on the Days of 47 board. Our lives have been lifted and blessed in each of these associations. You are in our thoughts and...

Sister Cannon, I learned today, at the temple in Provol, that Bro Cannon had passed away. Another sealer Bro Cannon informed me. Sis Hunter and I will always remember, with fondness, the great day we had together in Stockholm in 1999. Both of you hold warm spots in our heart. We recall seeing you from time to time in SLC, most recently at a wedding reception for a young couple Bro Cannon had sealed in the temple, the daughter of your bishop and the son of a man whom I served in a bishopric...

Dear Aunt Isabel and family:

My Mother (Lucy L. Clark) telephoned me yesterday and told me that Uncle Bud had passed away. I remember several sweet memories of being with you, Uncle Bud, and your children (my sweet cousins), at your home. My Mother has been sick of late and did not know about Uncle Bud's passing, till her brother (Uncle Heber Lloyd) called and told her about the funeral. She felt bad that she had missed the funeral and all.

I too feel bad that I...

Isabel - One of the highlights of the Hales Gathering last year was getting to sit next to you and George in the assembly. We were saddened to hear of his passing, but take hope in the promise of eternal life which he has surely earned.
