Not sure what to say?

This is from a Christmas letter from TILFORD CLINE of Lafayette, IN, faculty of Purdue University, formerly of University of Illinois Department of Animal Sciences:

"Dear Rick,

...I do want to thank you very much for sending information concerning your Father's death and also your nice Christmas letter. I think that Dick would be very proud of you for communicating with his many friends as you have.

[He gave Tip some wilted Roses from his backyard at 611 Burkwood, Urbana,...

Thanks for the nice note. Your dad sounds like quite a fellow and he looks very friendly in his picture. I am sorry for your loss.... Larry's mom just passed away this past November. His dad in 2002 - you can't help but just miss them.... but Larry likes to say he tries hard to encapsulate what he learned from his parents and think of it often. Larry graduated from UI in Architecture around the time your sister did. Our gallery manager recented graduated from Animal Sciences at UI...

Rick,

Thanks much for the information in Dicks Guest Book. You and Deb have to feel good about all the glowing remarks of his friends and colleagues. We agree wholeheartedly with them. I thought that Stan Curtis, who I know well, said it all and just what I would like to second.
We hope that all is well with you and Deb's family.

Rick, Thanks so much for the great info about friend Dick and the family. I'm sorry that we missed the memorial service in Urbana. No excuse although we did have our daughter and husband visiting from Seattle so there was a distraction. Dick was a great friend of mine and we had some good times traveling to extension outtings and playing some golf once in a while. We hope you are getting along ok in your new suroundings and miss seeing you at the various performances in town. We hope our...

Dear Deb & Rick,
As you have heard repeatedly throughout your lives, your Dad was well respected by all those who knew him. His sense of humor was a ray of sunshine. His passion for swine was very evident, only to be surpassed by his love for his family.

He and your Mother always treated me kindly and took a sincere interest in me. They taught meaningful life-lessons merely by living simply and with significance.

You have a rich heritage; you have wonderful memories; you are...

Remembering Dick Carlisle

We’re here to remember, and to relish the memory of,

Dick Carlisle.

Dick Carlisle was, in a word, extraordinary.

Now, let’s admit it: We live in a culture of superlatives.

The –est age, you might say: It seems that everything is the best or the poorest or the biggest or the smallest...

Dear Deb and Rick: This morning I reread your note about your dad and then realized that I missed the service at Wesley! I had not written it on my calendar when I received it a month ago!! Lois arrived on Friday evening and really was disappointed that she hadn't known. Betsy and Emily came on Saturday and so it has been a busy time and I sometimes have trouble focusing on more than one thing at a time. So I send my love and apologies to your family I share so many wonderful memories ...
