Not sure what to say?

George was a delightful friend at two entirely different stages of our respective lives. I first met George in our freshman year at Harvard College. He was quite unusual: entering Harvard at eighteen, married and with a child ... and full of intriguing tales of his youth of exploration and adventure. We worked together in the basement of the Union, then the freshman dining hall, washing the partitioned plastic trays on which each diner's food was slopped. We were exposed to high heat and...

I knew George when he was friends or worked with Dan Langone and Ed, they always lunched at the Tavern. I worked there and always loved waiting on them. So fun to be around. George was one of a kind and won’t be forgotten.

Although I never knew George, nor even met this legand (until reading this obituary) I felt I had to leave my heart felt condolences to the large family George leaves behind. What a pleasure to read George's accomplishments in life. We need more George's in this crazy world we are living in. Fly high "Legand George"

Our thoughts are with you, Luann. Bill was reminiscing today about all the contributions George made to this State. A wonderful smart, creative person. A real loss to the future. Our best to you.

We are sorry to hear of George’s passing, and offer our condolences to LouAnn and the Chaffee family.
RIP.

Fifty years of sharing good and bad times with one of my best friends. I will miss you George but I know you are in a better place RIP my friend.

Lou Ann: I was always fond of you and George. He had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around. Our insurance careers extended over almost 20 years off and on. May he Rest In Peace and May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
