I was late to hear of Rick's passing. He was a beloved friend I first met at USC Art Department 1967. I was among so many that admired his work and loved his gentle spirit. The portrait so cherished, handed now to sister Ann.

Rest in peace, Rick. You were a kind and talented man.

In thinking about Rick and memories we shared, I realize that he never played a false note, never put himself before the courtesy he offered other people. Kindness, courage, talent....Rick exaltation becomes our grief. May the sod lay lightly aman cara.

Onward into the happy Universe my Friend.
His spirit filled all of us like music and Love. Charles Hatchell.
