Our deepest sympathy on the death of Dr. Gowder, to the Gooch family. We are secluded and do not see people often here in Suches now that the store has been closed, so we did not know of his passing until today when we saw it on the front page of a newspaper at Booger Hollow gas station when we went in for our Hunts Pizza. Though he passed in his sleep as you would wish, we know you are missing your Dad, Becky and Steve.

Condolences to David and the rest of the family. Dr. George Gowder certainly exemplified the best attributes of a "family doctor" and was instrumental in establishing the solid medical community that exists in Union County today. Many of the family members have carried on his tradition, playing prominent roles in health care in the region.
