Still miss you George...miss our talks! Jim Smith

I can't believe is been nearly 7 years since you left us. I think of you often and miss our talks. Jim

I have known George Decker since 1972 and sang in the St Paul's Episcopal choir. over the years we have tried to keep in touch. I lived with George for a couple of years and have many fond memories. I'm so saddened to hear of his passing my condolences to his sister Carol.

A year has passed since dear GW left this earth, and yet the wonderful memories of 25 years as his assistant organist; Bach Choir; Cathedral Choir; and Handbell Choir at St. Paul's Cathedral, Syracuse, remain alive within myself and so many people I know. Rest in Peace, my dear friend. Your kindness, wit and musicianship are missed by so many. The heavens are alive with your wonderful improvisations.

Everytime I'm at a service at Trinity Episcopal Church, Everett, WA, whether it be singing in the choir, playing the organ or handbells....wonderful memories of 25 years as your Associate Organist at St. Paul's Cathedral, Syracuse, come forth. Rest in Peace my friend and faithful musician.

"The Widow Baba" given to him by his dear friend Digger after their trip to Turkey He was my dear friend a truly good person

George, my Godfather, I sooo loved singing in your choir. I loved your music selections and your patience when I stumbled musically. It was a privilege to know you and be part of your life for all too short a time! Rest in peace, dear one! Abby Lazar

Rest in peace my dear friend you will be sadly missed

"GW" was the first true friend I made after moving to Syracuse in 1970. I sang in both the regular choir and the Bach Cantata choir. George and the friends I met through him have been some of the truest friends in my life. I will miss his amazing talent, incredible work ethic (He never missed a Sunday service.), and his deliciously wicked wit. My sincere sympathies go out to his family and his innumerable friends. Rest in Peace dear GW.
