How could I ever forget George Dorko, especially around Christmas time. George would arrive in every classroom at the Northumberland County AVTS with his annual box of chocolate covered pretzels for all of us--teachers, administrators and staff. I taught with George for many years and shared his friendship with my Dad, Tom Kutz, a fellow Slovak from St, Marys. My Dad was proud to call George his friend. I have known George all my life and would chuckle when he entered my classroom at the end...

I am proud to have been a part of his family. As my Uncle, godfather and godfather to my son, I have been blessed with wonderful memories and his love.You were the most gentle and kind man I ever knew, I will miss you but always remember your casino "therapy". Love always, Gina

After perusing such a lengthy and diverse write-up there is a lot of catching up to do by me to match all of the accomplishments of the best uncle ever. While we know that that will never happen, I feel that striving to be more like the person that he was is the best that I can do. Goodbye Uncle Norge... it is a privilege to be your nephew and god son.

To the extended family, I am a 1982 Tech School graduate from Line Mountain, and as a carpentry student I had the privilege to work with "NORGE" on many different school projects. He firmly believed in giving everyone a second chance and was willing to lend a hand in any project that needed to be done. I did not know much about his background but always had respect for him as a teacher and after reading his obituary and learning he was one of those few remaining WWII veterans, I want to let...
