DUNLAP, George H. – of Fenton, age 88, died Tuesday, October 10,2017, at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 600 North Adelaide in Fenton, Father Robert Copeland officiating. Cremation has taken place. Contributions may be made to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan or the American Cancer Society. Visitation 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road in Flint and from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church on Monday.



         



Mr. Dunlap was born in Flint, Michigan on December 29, 1928, the son of the late Charles and Alexandrine (Michaud) Dunlap. He served in the U.S. Army and played hockey and baseball for the Army teams. He enjoyed his membership at the Flint Elks Club and was an avid golfer. Mr. Dunlap had a career with Schafer Bakeries that spanned 60 years.



 



He loved spending time with his family.

wife of 44 years, Pamela;



 



7 children, Melvin Kerr (Peggy Aquilla), William (Jennifer) Kerr, Keely Mounger (Kathleen McGee), Linda Kerr, William Dunlap, Judith (Michael) Perkins, Teresa (Terry) Lipe, and George Dunlap;



 



7 grandchildren, William (Katie) Kerr, Kristie (George) Yammine, Matthew (Evelyn) Kerr, Andrea (DeAndre) Adams, Jacob (Asia) Mounger, Joseph Mounger (Lacey Childers), Kelsey Kerr (Joseph Neminski);



 



9 great-grandchildren, Nathan and Liam, Christian and GiGi, Britain and Jackson, DeAndre and Wesley, and Henry;



 



2 brothers, James (Nancy) Dunlap and Paul (Beverly) Dunlap;



 



English in-laws, Roger Iron, Maureen (Patrick) Taylor, Penny Antil, Beverly (John) Parish, Sally Iron and Geraldine Iron.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Dunlap; grandson, George Dunlap; brothers, Charles and John Dunlap; a sister, Julia; sister-in-law, Earla and brother-in-law, Tony Iron.
