Not sure what to say?

Coach Dunn was my Health Class teacher during my freshman year at OLCHS in 1958. And he was my track coach in shot and discus into my senior year. His nickname for me was "wheat germ," because I was very into natural food back then. I liked working with him. He was kind of a character. I graduated in 1962, but came back to visit the school with my son many years later, in the 90s, I think. As we walked into the gym, a much older Coach Dunn recognized me immediately. "Hey wheat germ. How's it...

I'm so sad to hear of Coach Dunn's passing. He was a strong, formidable force in my high school years. He was my gym teacher and head track coach. He carried so much respect just by being him. I have thought of him warmly over the years, and he is a person who lives on in my personal 'Hall of Fame'. Love you Coach Dunn. -Don Murphy OLCHS 1991

Simply stated, Coach Dunn is the the greatest influencer of our generation of Track & Field Coaches. Always willing to share his enormous intellect, Coach was the ultimate and consummate teacher. His accomplishments are legendary, but Coach Dunn´s greatest achievements live on with many of his thousands of students and colleagues. George was a tireless and tremendously impactful advocate for his peers. To Lynette please know that all of us are the poorer for your Father´s passing but his...

The Mightly Spartans under Coach Dunn

it is hard to express how much Coach Dunn met to me; he was like a father and did so much to help shape my life. Every time I teach a coaching course for USATF or talk with other coaches at clinics, I talked about Coach Dunn what he did for me not only as an athlete but as a person. I use the lessons I learned from Coach Dunn with my athletes everyday including my own son. A true legend, he will be missed.

Coach Dunn, I can never thank you enough for the many life lessons you taught me. My success in my sport and life are because of your guidance. God´s peace and speed.
