George Durden Obituary
He was preceded in death by his parents, Washington Durden and Bertha Gulsby; daughter, Brandy Bigham; and sister, Cammie L. Manning.
Survivors include his wife, Betty C. Durden of Duncanville; daughter, Jessyka Hammond (Sean) of Tuscaloosa; sons, Shane Durden and Ricky Durden of Mississippi, and Brian Townsend of Ellisville, Miss.; sister, Willie Mae "Pat" Shelly of Texas; brother, Bobby G. Smith Sr. of Troy, Ala.; and grandchildren, Brad Bigham, Jessyka Bigham, R. J. Bigham, Caroline Hammond, and Cameron Hammond.
Pete was a good man. He loved his wife, Betty that has been by his side until the end. He loved all his kids and grandbabies, which will miss him dearly. He loved to watch Alabama football and watch races.
Pallbearers will be Sean Hammond, Shannon Smith, Glenn Smith, Brad Bigham, Shane Hammond, and Darrell Strickland.
Honorary pallbearers are Hospice of West Alabama, DCH Imaging/Radiology, Dr. Lovelady, Dr. Sundar, TK Stanley, and Hillcrest Middle CNP.

We are all very saddened to hear of the passing of mr durden. We loved him very much! Loved to talk about NASCAR with him. He was always a pleasure to see. He was always smiling and very appreciative to us. We apologize for not finding out till yesterday. He will truly be missed. Wonderful man and friend!

Ms Betty and Family "Mr Pete" will be missed by all of his "family" at Mike's. We loved him dearly. Our prayer is that God will wrap you in his loving arms and lead you through this darkness. Heaven gained an Angel.
