George K. Eliades, age 85, of Indian Land, SC, formerly of Lumberton, NC and Fairfax, VA, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.  He was born in Latta, SC on November 7, 1936 to the late Louis Eliades and the late Ida Hair Eliades. Prior to his retirement, he had been the CEO of several trade associations in the Washington, D.C. area. He loved traveling and enjoyed fine food. His great joy was coaching his sons in youth basketball and later playing bridge.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David.


Mr. Eliades is survived by his wife, Nancy Wilkins Eliades; his children, Ryan (Sara) and Kevin (Christine); his very special granddaughters, Katie and Maddie; his niece, Darby (Jason); and two grandnieces and his nephew, Alexander.


A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 4:00PM at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton, NC with Pastor LeRoy Burke officiating. Following the service, there will be a reception at the Holiday Inn at 101 Wintergreen Drive in Lumberton, NC.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

We have such happy memories of our family with George. I especially loved when he visited me in college and surprised me at my job! I also loved his strong southern accent! All my love to Nancy, Kevin and Ryan!
